What is Opportunity Alamance?
Established in 2022, Opportunity Alamance is part of the “CAROLINA ACROSS 100" Collaborative program based out of UNC Chapel Hill. The program's goal is to create opportunities for 6400+ youth between age 16-24, surrounding education and employment such as college, trade school, and/or assist them with finding full-time employment.
WHO IS OPPORTUNITY ALAMANCE?
Opportunity Alamance consists of various community stakeholders who's mission is to create a PIPELINE TO OPPORTUNITY for youth that are transitioning into adulthood. These stakeholders include:
Alamance United Mental Health -
a community service partner that provides therapeutic Life Coaching & Support, Outpatient Therapy services, Certified Transitional Youth Specialists Trainer.
United Way of Burlington - a community organizer partner that provides technical and administrative assistance along with scholarship opportunities, housing, and educational programming.
Alamance Chamber of Commerce -
a community organizer partner that gathers and facilitates employment opportunities through its ever-developing network of local employers.
a community service provider partner that is an Institution of higher learning that provides advanced learning degrees, as well as trade school learning opportunities and certifications.
a community service partner that provides workforce development training and job placement services.
Division of Employment and Independence for People with Disabilities (EIPD) formerly known as NC Vocational Rehab -
a community resource partner hat provides workforce development, job readiness training, education support, & job placement services.
Salvation Army of Burlington -
a community resource partner that provides food banks, clothing and financial resources.
